Firefox add-on love FIrefox is the web browser of choice for many in know and addons.mozilla.org has heaps of nice add on for the program. Lately I've been loving Session Manager which allows you save a window full of tabs of different pages, like bookmarking but with multiple tabs. If your like me you'll have a collection of sites you check on an almost daily basis, I have saved a surf check session and a news session. Both of these are made up of six or so different sites, so rather then opening each site individually I just click on the saved session up they all come up at once in different tabs. I also love the add ons Fire Bug and the Web Developer Toolbar which are handy for picking apart the code of websites your visiting.

Keeping Track of your Hours Keeping track of the hours spent on projects is important, primarily because it allows you to make informed estimates on how long certain processes take and gives you a base to estimate costs for clients. At where I work we use the calendar function in Microsoft Outlook as a timesheet, but on my home computer (which doesn’t have Outlook) I’ve found Slim Timer to be a great tool for time-keeping. Slim Timer is a web based timer that you create an account and log into, where you create and click on tasks to start and end the timer. You can manage tasks, edit entries, run reports and clients can even check in real time the amount of time being spent on their project. Check it out at: slimtimer.com
